• 1 Corinthians 16:14

Like many other poets, philosophers, and neurotics of the Earth. I attempted to define what love is. My definition lies below:

    Sum Of My Five Parts:

If love had a whiff to it, I would note it to orange blossoms and vanilla.
If you daubed it behind your ears, the flowers would be envious!

If love had a color to it, I would picture it to be a toffee brown.
If you decided to paint a mural, you could view the entire world!

If love had a flavor to it, I would savor it to mashed potatoes and gravy.
If you wanted to host Thanksgiving, you can’t go wrong with a perfect pairing!

If love had a song to it, I would melodize it to the drum of a beating heart.
If you attempted to compose your own rhythm, it will go number one on the charts!

If love had a feel to it, I would caress it as if it were a smooth pearl.
If you drill for every last jewel, they wouldn’t even be worth as much as a clamshell!

The sum of my five parts is God-given.
And God gave me all of the sense to love you!

  • Queen of The Seas

I wrote this poem at the beginning of my Bible journey, or my journey period. Honestly, you can’t look at the natural world and tell me there is no God behind the makings of everything this planet has to offer. When I wrote this, I was thinking of the leopard-print stingrays (called Leopard Whiprays) I saw at the aquarium with my friends. These creatures captivated me like a little girl, the same way leopard slugs did years ago when I saw them on my garage wall late at night. The sheer fact that this pattern is rendered across three distinct species says a lot about who we all are as beings. I also used this quote on my bedroom wall for inspiration:

Before God made you, He knew you…there is no one else like you! (Psalms 139)

    Queen of the Seas

“And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.”

    -Genesis 1:20 KJV

In my past life , I was the Manta

    With Diamond black form

    And Pearly white tips

Like the Albatross , King of the Sky

I was Queen of the Sea

    And I…Wanted to fly !

    Lord please…let me fly !

The Ocean vast, but yet a drop

    To me

For my fins spanned across time

Like the Albatross , King of the Sky

I was Queen of the Sea

    And I…Wanted to fly !

    Lord please…let me fly !

The Albatross flies so unkempt and footloose

Unhinged from boundaries, liberated and exempt

I see him through the glass below

Like the Albatross , King of the Sky

I was Queen of the Sea

    And I…Wanted to fly !

    Lord please…here my cry !

So , the Lord heard my Cry

    And said…

My beautiful creation , If wanted you to fly…

I would of fitted you the with the wings of my Angels

I would of gave you beak as solid and shiny as a golden Shofar

I would fixed you with the Call as loud as a thousand silver Bangles

I would have garnered you with the eyes engraved with the Stars

The Sky and the Sea are different but yet same

    To fly is to swim

    As wings are to fins

    As beaks are to mouths

    As sound is to silence

    As brightness is to darkness

Do you not think the Albatross cries like You ?

To have the fins made of the finest Ivory

To have a mouth as wide , the seas refinery

To have the voice of silence , but yet tells all

To have eyes that see through the darkness, to find the Light of God

I made you for a purpose

    And that purpose is Good…

    And so he departed

And my Heart swelled with Joy

For I was made with Love , like all the other creatures !

Like the Albatross , King of the Sky

I was Queen of the Sea

    And I…Wanted to swim !

For that is the will of Him !
