• I’ll Find You, Even in the Dark

I write because it is how I translate the world into something I can understand. But more importantly, it is how I talk to God and how He talks to me. I have always been drawn to art ever since I was young. The appeal of art comes from the fact that you are pulling from something only you can see. When other people interpret your art, could it get lost in translation? Perhaps. But to be a great artist, you must keep an open heart, but a closed one between you and your Source. To close out the month of June, and my one-year anniversary of being a writer, I want to share a poem I wrote yesterday, on again, love.

I’ll Find You, Even In The Dark

I'll find you, even in the dark
    As punishment for loving you
Amongst a night with no stars
Amongst a crowd with no faces
Amongst a start with no end
    As punishment for loving you
I'll find you, even in the dark

I'll find you, even in the dark
    As punishment for loving you
Against a fall without a rise
Against a death without a birth
Against a body without a soul
    As punishment for loving you
I'll find you, even in the dark

I'll find you, even in the dark
    As punishment for loving you
    Always with courage withstanding fear
    Always with hope withstanding doubt
    Always with devotion withstanding rejection
    As punishment for loving you
I'll find you, even in the dark

Because amongst everything, and against everything
You will always be the light of my life!

  • Walk Into The Sunshine

Its weird being a writer. I just had to get that out.

Summer is here, unofficially. Today is the last day for a spring breeze, as the sun is going to barrel its big wide butt down unto my area starting tomorrow, with no rain in sight. I took the opportunity to seize the clean air now, and do something I never really connived doing before:

    Go for a walk.

Maybe I needed to sweat the morning caffeine out of my system, maybe I needed to get into the habit of exercising, or maybe I just needed it. Sometimes you just need something, without explanation.

    Left foot, Right foot.

One story about walking that has always stuck in my mind is in Genesis 5:24:

“Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.” (NASB)

Then its this song my grandmother used to have in rotation, The Spinners rendition of Vaya Con Dios.

    Go with God.

The One Who Walked With God

    Written on December 17th, 2023

This will be a story that slaves pass to their children

And of those children all the way down to the rapture day

They themselves, will finally see God

But not all will walk with Him

But those who hold on to love, will

Long ago, there was a man named Enoch

Who dearly loved God, and God dearly loved him

God saw that the world was wrong

And the world was torturing Enoch

But Enoch still had his love

So, God, in the name of love, took Enoch away

He walked with him, into a bright light

    Enoch did not die

Those who hold on to their love will not cry

Those who hold on to their love will not die

Those who hold on to their love, will fly!

    Be that of Enoch

    Be that of Elijah

    Be that of Jesus

Again, its weird being a writer. But I wouldn’t have it any other way 🙂
